Customer Service Rep / Ad Coordinator

Our small, family-owned business is growing and looking for someone to grow with us!

We produce a weekly print publication with a circulation of about 23,000 homes, and are looking for a friendly, responsive customer service representative and ad coordinator in one.

Primary tasks include customer communication and processing ad placements. This means supporting our customers by managing phone calls, emails, and postal mail. Current ad volume is about 500 to 600 ads per week.

Many of our customers use phone and postal mail in addition to email to communicate, so an ease with all is needed. You should be a quick typist, proficient in Google Sheets or other spreadsheet apps, and able to multitask on a computer.

Must enjoy gathering “puzzle pieces” of information and assembling them into complete ad orders, all while pleasantly communicating with customers throughout the day.

Some work can be done remotely (after training), but every Thursday the team works together in Lancaster County (East Hempfield).

This role is expected to be about 30-35 hours per week (generally Monday through Friday, 8:00-5:00pm), with additional hours available if met with the right skills and initiative.

Requirements:

  • Great communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic
  • Professional attitude
  • Be able to collaborate and work well with team members
  • Typing speed must be at least 65 wpm
  • Must have your own laptop
  • Must be local to Lancaster, PA

You’ll enjoy this job if you:

  • Are patient, empathetic and enjoy speaking with other pleasant people.
  • Genuinely enjoy assisting others
  • Enjoy interacting with other cultures, particularly Amish and Mennonite
  • Are able to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Get satisfaction from assisting and resolving any issues a customer has, with accuracy and efficiency
  • Prefer working with a small, close-knit team in a hard-working, yet informal office atmosphere

Additional notes: Starting pay is $25 per hour. This is a 1099 contractor position. No benefits are provided.
